Transcript[]
[Another day in the Land of Ooo. Finn and Jake are in prone positions on a hill, overlooking a band of four Marauders.]
Finn: Alright, here's the plan: we run down this hill, yelling, and hit those guys.
Jake: And that's why I put you in charge of plans.
[And thus, Finn and Jake charge down the hill, screaming battle cries. The Marauders notice them coming and prepare to counterattack. Both sides approach each other for what might have been a minor skirmish, had Finn bothered to count on one unexpected factor: Two security agents leaping out of nowhere and without warning, tackling Finn and forcing Jake and the Marauders to stop.]
Finn: Oh. Hey, guys.
[Just then, a black limo rolls in. The door opens, and a pair of arms take Finn and Jake in, then closes, and the limo rolls out... to the White House.]
Agent: Here we are. Your father wants to see you.
[Finn and Jake disembark. The limo is dismissed. Jake is clearly confused about this turn of events.]
Jake: Wait, (raises eyebrow) what?
Finn: Oh, yeah, didn't I mention that? I'm not just Finn the Human. (Takes out a "Vote Gilcrest" pin and pins it on his shirt) I'm also the son of President Dale Gilcrest... [Zoom in on the Vote Gilcrest pin.] ...the Human.
Jake: No! No, you did not mention that! I would remember, 'cause it's a crazy thing!
[Title card: 1600 Finn]
[Scene: the President's Room. Finn role plays being serious while on the phone.]
Finn: Uhhh, I declare NOT having an awesome time ILLEGAL! Deploy the Air Force in FIVE MINUTES!
President Dale Gilcrest: I don't sound like that, and get out of my chair!
Finn: That's not your chair, it's Jake!
Jake: Yeah! We smashed up the chair and made cool swords out of it!
(Finn and Jake run around the room swinging their makeshift swords.)
President Dale Gilcrest: Look, son. I thought it would make sense to send you to that silly, made-up world. Y'know, to build character. But it's time you started acting like a president's son. It's embarassing to explain to the press that you're off "punching dead wizards" or "kissing fire ladies".
Finn: Okay, but listen to how COOL that sentence sounded!
President Dale Gilcrest: I need you to be on your BEST behavior. Especially today, because we have an important foreign dignitary visiting.
(Scene: Finn, Jake, The President, and Emily Gilcrest are outside the White House)
Finn: Alright, I'll promise not to do anything to mess up your meeting with, uhhh... Hey, who ARE you meeting with?
President Dale Gilcrest: The Ice King.
(An anxious look falls on Finn's face as a limo pulls up to the White House. The door opens and out steps the Ice King.)
President Dale Gilcrest: Ice King, we welcome you to this great country.
(Ice King doesn't respond, as Finn has already tackled him to the ground and is punching his face repeatedly.)
President Dale Gilcrest: ...AND I apologize for my son. Punching you in the face. Repeatedly.
(Finn stops punching Ice King and chuckles nervously.)
Finn: Oops, force of habit.
(Finn hops off Ice King and he and Jake scamper off.)
Ice King: It's okay, I'm used to it.
(Scene: The Oval Office. Finn and Jake are under the table while Dale Gilcrest is having an important meeting with the Ice King.)
Finn: I know I promised Dad I'd be good, but I also know the Ice King must have some evil plan, so we HAVE to spy on him!
Jake: I see no problem with any of the things you've said.
(Above the table, The President and Ice King are discussing important matters.)
President Dale Gilcrest: So, if I understand you correctly...
Ice King: Yes! By this time next year, my ice powers will have blanketed the planet, freezing the entire Earth!
(Suddenly, Finn BURSTS through the table!)
Finn: I KNEW IT! Prepare to be defeated, evil jerk!
(He punches and kicks Ice King square in the face.)
President Dale Gilcrest: Finn!
Finn: Aw, come ON! He's gonna freeze the planet!
President Dale Gilcrest: I know, that's what I ASKED him to do! It's our new plan to solve global warming!
Finn: Oh. Well. Yeah, that actually sounds like a good plan.
(Scene, Finn and Jake are sitting outside of the White House.)
Finn: I messed up. I jumped to conclusions and let my Dad down. Well, not anymore! From now on, I'm gonna be a good son!
Jake: Aw, don't beat yourself up. The Ice King is SUPER suspicious. Like, I think he's capturing your Stepmom right now!
(Ice King is, of course, running away from the White House, holding Emily Gilcrest over his head. Finn turns away and crosses his arms.)
Finn: Nope! I'm not even gonna look!
Jake: Yep, now he's coming back to freeze your Dad.
(Ice King comes back into frame and freezes the President, who has attempted to give chase.)
Finn: I'm sure it's some misunderstanding!
Jake: Now he's just kicking the White House out of spite.
(Ice King is kicking the White House out of spite.)
Finn: I don't wanna hear it!
Jake: Aaaaand now the White House has been blown up by unrelated aliens.
(A giant UFO mothership comes down and blows up the White House, causing Ice King to flee! This catches Finn's attention, if only for a moment.)
Finn: Smowzow! I mean... I bet that was SUPPOSED to happen.
[The Segment Ends.]
Trivia[]
- This is the first time NBC's 1600 Penn showed up.
- In Adventure Time's pilot, the original Finn's name was Pen.
- This is the seventh time Adventure Time gets parodied. The previous ones were:
- Ice King's genderbent couterpart, Ice Queen, made a cameo in the crowd at the beginning.
- Finn's dad mentions that Finn has been kissing fire ladies, a reference to Finn's (then) girlfriend Flame Princess.
- Finn and Jake, in this sketch, sound very similar to the titular characters of the Sam & Max franchise. While this is most likely a coincidence, the similarities are taken further than this; the ears on Finn's hat looks like Max's ears, Jake is a dog like Sam, and they sound like Max and Sam, respectively.
- In the end part where a UFO destroys the White House is an obvious reference to the movie, Independence Day (which was co-starring Will Smith). This recycled scene refers back from I Am Lorax.
- Finn is out of place in this short, because it says here that his father is the president, in the original series, Finn was adopted by the Jake`s family, and it is later revealed that his real father, Martin, is a selfish con-artist, though as the 2017 miniseries Islands revealed, he may have sustained brain damage during an incident involving people he fell out with.
- In the Latin spanish version, Finn, Jake and the Ice King have their original voices in the American Latin spanish version of the original series.
- Also in the Brazilian portuguese version, Finn, Jake and the Ice King have their original voices in the Brazilian dub version of the original series.
