Summary of Book[]
Diary of a Wimpy Kid is a series of humorous fiction books written by American author and cartoonist Jeff Kinney. The books are the journals of the main character, whose name is Greg Heffley. Befitting a child's diary, they are filled with hand written notes and simple drawings of his daily adventures.
The first book has been made into a film by 20th Century Fox in 2010, starring Zach Gordon as Greg. The film is followed by three sequels that are adapted from the second, third, fourth, and ninth books. (The Long Haul (the fourth installment in the Wimpy Kid film series) uses elements from the seventh, eighth, and tenth books).
Years later, 20th Century Fox (under the Walt Disney Pictures banner) started to release animated adaptations of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book series on Disney+, starting with yet another adaptation of the first book in December 2021.
