Gobots was a line of transforming robot toys produced by Tonka from 1983 to 1987, similar to Transformers.
Their home series is Takara's Rival Toy Company, BANDAI(Popy)'s Machine Robo series, So Tonka imported this from Bandai. In fact, Machine Robo came out first, and the Transformers series came out later. However, in the case of Cartoon or anime, it can be said that it is correct that it came out before Transformers.
Meanwhile, in the case of the original Machine Robo, the anime series came out in 1986(Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos) and 1987(Machine Robo: Battle Hackers). Later, an OVA was released, and in 2003,Machine Robo Rescue was aired.
